The United States Department of Justice and Association of Retail Travel Agents (ARTA) entered into a settlement and agreed to a final judgment without trial. The Court enjoined ARTA from encouraging members of ARTA to refuse to do business with certain suppliers or enter into adhesion agreements with certain suppliers. ARTA was also enjoined from attempting to directly or indirectly pass any rules, which would require member adherence, which would result in the effects, enumerated above. ARTA had to enter into an antitrust compliance program.
