In Saratoga Harness Racing, Inc. v. Veneglia, plaintiff, the owner of a horse racing track, brought suit against the defendants, who were representatives of various trade associations dealing with horses and racing arrangements. The suit rested on an antitrust theory, with the plaintiffs alleging that the defendants had organized a boycott through their membership and alleging that the defendants had engaged in an illegal "tying" operation where the simulcasts of the races would be withheld. The defendants tried to raise a plethora of affirmative defenses, but the court allowed only a fraction of them. This was the final disposition of the case.
